Growing Up

I didn't realize how long it has been since I have posted anything on here. Sorry about that =/

A lot has happened since the last time I was on here. I recently went to California so I could scout out job opportunities, visit UCLA, and spend time with my family. My Granny was rather difficult to be around, but my Auntie Bari definitely made my trip worth while. UCLA…. holy shiz. That place is absolutely amazing! I got to talk to some of the students and the music faculty. I must say, I really think it's a perfect match! They were so nice to me and helped me with anything that I needed. I was dropping off some extra things and they said that I was the first person that had turned everything in that they needed. YAY! I also applied for a job at Disneyland. I should be hearing something about that soon. Connections are awesome!

I graduate in exactly 21 days. Where did the time go? I can't believe that it's almost over. I'm graduating and I'll be halfway across the country by New Years. It really is an amazing feeling. =)

I will do better about keeping things up to date on here.

Procrastination

I should be writing two different papers right now, but of course I am putting it off.

I can't wait until my summer classes are finally over. It's not that they are incredibly difficult, it's just too much busy work. It's driving me mad!

CSAA (Chickasaw Summer Arts Academy) is starting up next week! I am SO freaking excited to start teaching. It is going to be an absolute blast! Another thing that makes it better is that I know a ton of the staff and I get along with them tremendously. It will be fun and interesting, that's for sure!

Grad School applications are starting to get filled out soon. I can't believe I only have 5 more months........ 5. More. Months. INSANE! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for California. I sure do miss it out there and it would be one HELL of an experience! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for any school I'm applying for outside of Oklahoma. I'm ready to move on!

I don't really know what else is new. Your guess is as good as mine. =)

Oops!

It has been a while since I have been on here, but things have been absolutely crazy! My sister got hitched yesterday and she was GORGEOUS! I'm so happy for her that words cannot express it. The wedding was beautiful, almost everyone got along, the food was great, and I caught the bouquet! Great times.....

Nothing much has really changed. Still working, still doing schoolwork, still tired. Hooray!

Time to do my homework now.

It's Been A While

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Things have started getting VERY busy around here!

My sister's wedding is coming up in THREE weeks! I am really excited and I love helping her get everything ready for the big day. She's going to absolutely gorgeous and the wedding is going to be beautiful! I can't wait to stand next to her when she says "I Do" to her perfect man. He is a great guy!

I applied for a new job a few weeks ago and I had an interview recently. I think I'm going to take it! It's not that I don't like working for the restaurant, but I have bills to pay now and I need a steady income. =)

I've lost 15 pounds since I started working and moved into my new house! That's extremely exciting for me and I can't wait to shed some more! Gotta start looking good. ;D

Time to do some summer school homework. OH BOY!!!!!

It's cleaning time!

I slept in until 3:15 today. I guess I needed the sleep huh? Everything is finally starting to work out! I finally have time to finish unpacking stuff and put it in its rightful place. Did I mention how much I LOVE living in a house? I did? Well, I really love it. My house is freaking awesome! Jussayin.

I have made progress in my room (I can finally see the floor... again)! I can't wait to have all of the finishing touches here though. Just minor things though, like a separated laundry hamper, et cetera.

I found something while I was cleaning my room. My roomie, Blair, and I went to Dallas last week for the Josh Groban concert. We had a few hours to kill so we went to the Galleria to do a little bit of shopping. Now folks, THAT is a Mall! It was four stories tall and there were so many places that we wanted to go into. I found a store that I have always wanted to go to, but we don't have one in Oklahoma or Arkansas.

Teavana.

I swear I died and went to Heaven. That place is totally unbelievable! I have always been a tea lover, but I didn't realize there were SO many options! Let's just say I already have my Christmas list made.... I am super excited.

Dinner for tonight is Jumbalaya! Peace out.

Well that plan fell through....

Yeah, that surprise trip home? Not happening. Did I mention how much I hate being a poor college kid? This sucks!

Now the plan is going to be getting the rest of my stuff unpacked and cleaned. That is probably the right thing to do anyways. It is needed lol.

I have a goal for the summer. Lose some freaking weight! I've already lost about 10 pounds since I have started waitressing. I am supposed to be getting a bike for my birthday. I'm so freaking excited! I love and miss mountain biking. 

Eating better has already been taking place. Whenever I really start some cash flow, I'm going to start buying a TON of fruits and veggies. I love eating grilled food so a new grill is in order. Maybe another birthday present? We'll see!

Now it's lunchtime! Tuna salad and diet mountain dew! FTW! =D

Great News!

So I just got an email from my philosophy professor. Supposedly she LOVED my paper (which I actually thought was horrid) and gave me a "B" as my final grade. O.O

I'm not going to ask any questions. I'm going with it!

I have three days off this week so I'm making a surprise trip home. I told my best friend Rebekah that I'm going to come home and we are making some plans. This is going to be fun. I can't wait to see the look on my mom's and grandma's face! It will be fun. =)

Today I received an e-mail that I have been waiting on for over a month. I have been accepted to be an assistant teacher for the Chickasaw Summer Arts Academy! I'm freaking stoked! It's going to be a ton of fun, and I'm going to be paid (very well actually) to do something that I absolutely LOVE doing. Life is great right now. =)

I have been moved into my new house for a few weeks now and I still haven't unpacked everything. I'm going to go take care of this until I have to go to work.

Party Time!

Today was my roomie/besties daughter's first birthday! She is one of the cutest little things that I have ever seen. They grilled burgers and hot-dogs and Blair bought Keira the cutest cake.

I somewhat finished my philosophy paper. Maybe she will feel generous and not completely hate me. =)

Work kind of sucked today. I kept dropping and knocking everything over. I felt really bad. If you ask me..... I blame the paper! At least I had one entertaining table. They were pretty awesome.

It looks like I might be going to Florida before school starts with Blair and her Family. That should be a lot of fun!

Ok. I'm going to watch some TV and take a nap.

Philosophy

I feel like I'm never going to finish this paper. I'm too distracted and I have writers block.

If only I had the focus that I had yesterday..... Where's my caffeine? =\

Update: I'm barely even halfway. Guess who might not get a fantastic grade in this class. Ugh.

First Time in a Long Time

I was talking to a really good friend of mine today and we were looking back on our old blogs/websites, so I sat there for a second and thought to myself, "why did I stop blogging?", I used to really enjoy it. So here I am, blogging for the first time since Xanga in 2006. It's been a while.

As of right now, I am a Senior Vocal major at East Central University and I will be graduating in December 11' with my Bachelor's Degree. It is Summer break right now and I'm still taking classes in order to finish as soon as possible (that's another story in itself). I can't wait to finish up the final chapter in this book and start a new one. I love it here in Ada, OK, but now it is time to start moving on. I have made amazing friends here, a lot of them I know will be lifelong.

You know, you always hear "college is going to be one of the best times of your life, you should enjoy every second of it." Well, they are telling the truth! I honestly don't remember very much about high school, which really upsets me, so I took a look back on my Xanga account (which I am honestly shocked it's still there). It made me realize how much I have grown over the years. I used to get upset about the pettiest things, and I really regret that. And boy was I over enthusiastic. I never really noticed that.

At the moment, I am still scoping out Grad Schools. I have a few that I am really interested in, but if it's meant to be, it will happen. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and pray that I'll get accepted into a great school and hope that I have some phenomenal opportunities! I'm keeping my options open though. =)
